Bus Hire

 

Council has available a community bus for hire. The bus is available for use by non-profit community groups and organisations. Council has an annual booking procedure that involves an 'Application for Use of Rockdale City Council Community Bus' form to be submitted. Council will allocate the bus based on 'Conditions of Use' as details on the application form. It is critical that your organisation meets the Conditions of Use to prove that the bus utilisation best meet the needs of the broader community.

Application Process

  1. Council will send all current user groups a letter and application form requesting bus hire needs for the next calendar year

  2. For consideration, the applications must be received by the closing date as shown in Council's letter

  3. Applications will be reviewed against the Conditions of Use and groups notified of the outcome by mail

  4. Successful applicants will receive a Council Community Bus Permit for dates requested

  5. Bookings will be accepted on a one-off basis, as long as the bus is not booked to another group or the bus is not undergoing a regular maintenance/safety check. In all cases, the Conditions of Use as shown on the application form must be met by the applicant.

Please note that fees and charges are set annually through the Management Plan process of Council and as governed by the Local Government Act 1993, these fees and charges cannot be altered or removed.
