Seniors, who live independently at home or have a carer, are well supported in the Rockdale area, through the St George District Home And Community Care (HACC) program.

The HACC program is an excellent directory of services for people that require the assistance of others or carers of senior people. These services are provided by not for profit organisations that are financially supported by the Federal and State Governments. The listing of services available from these not for profit organisations include:

  • Home help and personal care
  • Home nursing services
  • Podiatry
  • Social support
  • Home and garden
  • Community transport
  • Food and shopping services
  • Respite care
  • Carer support groups
  • Language specific care services
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People Care
  • Becoming a volunteer

For further details on the service providers, the HACC services brochure is available in English, Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
