Councillor Joe Awada has lived in the
City of Rockdale for the past 24 years. He was first elected in March
2004.
Councillor Awada has a Bachelor of
Science from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of
Construction Management from the University of Technology Sydney. With
his educational background, Councillor Awada believes he can represent
the community to receive the best possible service from their Council.
"Over the next three years, I
hope that Council can regain the trust of the community and get ahead
of other councils with some fresh and innovative ideas."
Councillor Awada believes the City of
Rockdale has the potential to become more advanced in its look and feel.
"The City of Rockdale is the
gateway of Sydney. When you get off the plane at Sydney International
Airport the first City you pass through is the City of Rockdale, which
will give you your first impression of Sydney."
I am very privileged to be a Councillor
in a City with huge potential as well as a diverse community.
