Syd Frost Community Hall, Hawthorne Street, Ramsgate
Time:
Check website for more details
Access for people with disabilities:
Yes
Information:
The goal of these classes and workshops is to show students how to push the three primary colours to their limits. What will be demonstrated is how a limited palette leads to harmonious paintings and easy colour mixing. Also shown is the importance of tone and how to see it. To understand how portraying at least three tones in a painting will give a good feeling of sunshine.

To work through paintings using a simple, easy to understand method that works every time...and with every subject. Understanding what we see in the subject is the tricky part. Getting it onto the canvas is easy! And to get that sparkle of sunlight into a painting. All welcome

Date:
Saturday 1 November
Location:
Scott Park, Sans Souci
Time:
7:30am-9:30am
Access for people with disabilities:

Did you know that Botany Bay is the annual summer feeding ground for several species of migratory waders? These birds Godwits, Curlews, Sandpipers, Snipes and others fly thousands of kilometres from Siberia and Alaska and arrive exhausted and starving, to feed on the intertidal flats at Sans Souci and other areas around the Bay.

The Bird Watcher's Breakfast is timed for early early summer at a known feeding site so as to observe the birds soon after their arrival. Several local bird experts, including from the National Parks and Wildlife Service will be on hand to point out the various species and tell the amazing migration story of these birds.

To preview of the types birds we hope to see and meet two of our friendly bird experts have a look at this video filmed around Botany Bay.

We'll be meeting in the car park on the beach front across from Scott Park, Sans Souci. While we'll have a couple of scopes set up for viewing, you will have a much better experience if you can bring your own set of binoculars as well. You should also bring a hat, water, sunscreen and wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for walking on the sand. Coffee, tea and a snack will be provided
