Bring a picnic dinner, rug or chair and insect repellant. There will be 'batty craft' for everyone to enjoy.

Farewell Botany Bay Shorebirds

Right now over 5 million shorebirds (some of them from our own Botany Bay!) are migrating from Australia to breed in the Arctic - for some that's the equivalent of completing 309 consecutive marathons with only one or two drink stops along the way. Council is helping BirdLife Australia celebrate this amazing annual migratory shorebird event, Farewell Shorebirds, by holding a bird watching breakfast at Scott Park, Sans Souci. Members from Australasian Wader Studies Group and National Parks and Wildlife will be on hand to tell you all about these amazing birds. But don't just come to the breakfast, join BirdLife Australia's Farewell Shorebirds challenge! To find out more head to the website and go into the draw to win some incredible prizes
