How To Pay Your Rates

Details of how you can pay your rates account are listed in full on the back of your rate notice.

BPAY allows you to pay bills over the telephone or the Internet. Contact your bank for details on how to access your account using BPAY.

You can pay your rates at any Australia Post office by cash, cheque, debit card or the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard only.

By going to you can pay your rates using your credit card. (Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard only)

By calling 13 18 16 you can pay over the phone using your credit card (except Diners Cards and American Express). Make sure you have your rates notice with you before you make the call.

You can pay your rates by direct debit from your nominated savings account. Please complete this authority form and return it to Council at least ten (10) days prior to the due date.

Post your payment by tearing off the bottom section of the instalment notice, attaching your cheque or money order and mailing it to Locked Bag W122, Sydney, NSW 1292. Please do not send cash through the mail.

Bring your notice in to Council's Customer Service Centre at 444-446 Princes Highway, Rockdale and pay by cash, cheque, money order or EFTPOS/credit card. We accept all major cards, except Diners Card and American Express.

If you are having difficulty making a payment

Council usually gives a 7 day grace period after the due date for you to make your payment before adding an interest penalty. After 7 days, Council can extend the due date, however interest will be charged.

If you fall behind by two instalments, you must advise Council in writing (within seven days) of how and when you intend to bring your account up to date. Special arrangements can be made for residents in the event of extreme financial hardship.
