Development approval can be obtained within 10 days with a Complying Development Application that is lodged in accordance with the NSW Housing Codes.
Complying Development is usually small-scale and can be approved with a complying development certificate. Examples include routine 'low-impact' or 'straight-forward' development that complies with Council's relevant planning controls.

The Electronic Housing Code allows you to investigate whether your proposed development can be approved as exempt from approval or can be approved as complying under the NSW General Housing Code.
If your proposal meets the general exclusions and requirements and therefore is defined as a Complying Development, you may lodge a Complying Development Application with either Council or a private certifier.
