New Resident Services

Rockdale City Council's Waste Services are designed to help the community re-use its resources. From February 2008, our resource recovery (ie collected waste that we can reuse or recycle), will increase over the next 10 years from 25 per cent to 80 per cent. By actively recycling and reprocessing as much waste as possible, we reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill areas. Reducing landfill lessens the impact waste has on our local environment.

If you are a new resident to the city of Rockdale, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre on 9562 1666 to receive information on:

  • Council’s Waste Services Guide
  • Collection dates for your garbage and organic materials, recycling, and general clean up;
  • Obtaining a new or additional red-lidded Garbage and Organics Recovery Bin or yellow-lidded Recycling Bin.

For enquiries on your waste collection service, please contact the Waste Hotline Number on 1800 079 390 about:

  • Bin replacement
  • Bin repairs
  • Missed collection services
  • Collection spillages
  • Any other enquiries regarding your kerbside household garbage and recycling.

New Waste Collection Service

A short movie was commissioned by Council to inform the community about the benefits of the new Garbage and Organics Recovery Bin as the new waste system. This was sent out to residents in February 2008.
